I have had to redraw this week's page THREE TIMES NOW. Agghh action scenes are so hard to do, BUT, that just means I need to do them more often!

I assume eventually it'll get easier. It's gotta!

So obviously that means it's gonna be late. Probably more like a thursday update considering my wacky vampire sleep schedule. Fun fact: I am about to go to bed right now (it is 3pm)!

I deleted Dr. Schtein's old character sheet a while back because it was so outdated that everytime I looked at it I cringed. But, I am working on a new one that is much better and way huger. Full of the sort of nerdy dorky stuff I love to obsess over. Stats and outfits and things of that nature.

I'd say I'm about a third of the way done.

www.stringtheorycomic.com/art/… [look out, image contains pubes/nudity. It is not explicit in the least due to censor boxes, but it is probably embarassing to have someone catching you checking out my naked character refs]

That sideview cracks me up. Slouch away, doc!

Still need to add shading on the creepy corpses in the first box, touch up the shading on the head so that it is not crap, more outfits, other miscellaneous things... Details. Fix some anatomy errors that are glaring at me. I'll try to do one of these for each of the really important characters.

After I'm all done with this one, it looks like it'd be a pretty good meme. Although, I'm sure a million character ref memes exist already... But, what the hell, right?

ARGGGHHHH that is so cool! Is it just me, or has Schtein gotten pointier over time? Not his time, I mean, like our time. Real life time. You know what I mean, right? >>

Anyway, almost opened that up at college before reading the rest of the entry. Thank god for self control.

Love that slouch. Schtein is like the slouch personified. Impolite, low-self-esteem, paranoid. In a word, perfect!

Love how you tell it is; no rainbows and unicorns here! It's good to see that others tackle the same sort of problems I have as well. YAY anatomy!

Rafael Grampa said in one of his sketchbooks he draws action sequences like they're posters. I dunno if it's the best approach, but might be something to consider.

That's pretty interesting, I'm going to have to try that.

i can't find where he laid out how he does it, but [link] there's his blog. Mesmo Delivery does a lot of really great stuff as a comic, if you haven't read it yet.

I love that you don't whine about hard things and just decide to tackle more of them.
And yes, they totally do get easier! :D

That's a lot of work for a character ref page. :\ Perhaps I should actually make some of those too. (I did read somewhere that you're supposed to have a character page, but I feel they are more for the artist's benefit than the audience's. After all I want the character to speak for themselves rather than say they are like so and influence the reader to think of them from an external source rather than the writing itself...
I have digressed terribly, oh well...)

Props to the dedication. :highfive:

No, I agree. I won't be listing things like likes and dislikes and crap like that. Just proportions and color swatches and outfits. Visual aids, not story aids. C:

And tackling hard stuff like scenery and action and such is the fun part of comics! No whining necessary. :D
